Liu Hua

Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization Office in China

Ms. LIU Hua was appointed to the position of the Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization Office in China in June 2020. Prior to this, she had served as the Special Representative for Human Rights, the Deputy Director General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China(MFA), the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Association of China, the Senior Counselor of the Permanent Mission of China to the UN Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland and the Division Director of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the MFA. Over almost 30 years of diplomatic services, she has participated in and led a myriad of international conferences and negotiations on global issues Including Intellectual Property Rights, human rights, development, economy, finance, environment, public health, poverty alleviation and etc., with which she has been equipped with a good command of knowledge and in-depth understanding of the international relations and diplomacy. Ms. LIU Hua received B.A. degree in English Literature from Peking University and a Master’s Degree in Public International Law from Lund University of Sweden.
